I Can’t Just Live For Myself Can I?
Christmas is around the corner and for some it’s an extremely happy time of the year, but for others it’s one of the worst. I am always amazed at the different perspectives in life. I know a few people who have lost loved ones and for them holidays like Christmas can be hard for them. I am merely using this scenario as a simple example because it’s so easy to get wrapped up in our own lives and issues that we never stop to see how the people around us are doing. This could be the people at work, gym, football, tennis, church etc…!
When I make time for other people and lend a helping hand I cannot explain the joy I feel. I mean my life can’t just be about me, can it? What I want and need? How I’m thinking or feeling? Sometimes you don’t even need to do anything big or elaborate it could be as simple as being a listening ear for someone. One of the things that humans crave more than anything else is love!
What does love look like? What is love?
To me, love is caring, sharing and being there. I would not even begin to try to define it in words because love is many different things to different people. My point is give it to someone who needs it. Make sure you don’t over-complicate it either, keep it simple but show love to someone who needs it. You never know your small act of kindness could make the biggest difference in someone’s life.
